Top-ranked Aryna Sabalenka Secures Consecutive WTA Player of the Year Awards.

The tennis star in action
The Belarusian player ended the season with an notable twenty-three to three Grand Slam match record.

World number one Aryna Sabalenka has been selected the Women's Tennis Association top performer of the year for a second straight year.

The 27-year-old secured four tournament victories – the highest tally on the circuit – which included retaining the US Open this past September versus Amanda Anisimova to secure her fourth Grand Slam singles triumph.

A Season of High Performance

Across the season, Sabalenka competed in a circuit-leading nine finals, with defeats coming against Madison Keys in the Australian Open final at the start of the year and Coco Gauff in June's French Open final.

The Belarusian also triumphed at the Brisbane International early in the season, the Miami Open in March, and the Madrid Open in May. She remained the entire year as the top-ranked player, finishing 2025 on top of the rankings for a second straight year.

In July, she achieved the status of being the first athlete to exceed 12,000 WTA ranking points since Serena Williams did so nearly a decade ago.

Record-Breaking Achievements

Sabalenka concluded the competitive year with a 63-12 match record, and collected a historic eleven million pounds in prize money.

She earned nearly 80% of the votes cast by global tennis journalists.

On 28 December, she is set to play 2022 Wimbledon finalist Nick Kyrgios in a Battle of the Sexes-style exhibition match with the aim of "help bring women's tennis to a new level".
