'Living a Nightmare': Relatives of Missing Teenagers Await Answers After Ski Resort Blaze

The relatives of teens missing after a deadly fire at a establishment in a Switzerland's alpine town are confronting an excruciating period of uncertainty for confirmed information and pleading for clues about their loved ones publicly.

The blaze devastated the Le Constellation bar in the alpine resort, located in the Swiss Alps of south-west Switzerland, in the early hours of the first day of the year. Circulated footage show the roof structure catching alight as beverages with sparklers are held aloft.

Emergency services have warned that it could take considerable time to identify the victims of the tragedy, which resulted in the death of four dozen individuals and hurt another over a hundred. A spokesperson said on the latest update that 113 of the those hurt have been accounted for, with work still underway to name the other six.

In the meantime, relatives have been taking to online platforms to appeal for clues about their friends who were present at the venue that fateful night.

Heartbreaking Pleas for the Missing

The location of Swiss national Arthur Brodard, a teenager, are currently unknown, according to an heartfelt request from his parent.

The resident of a town near Lausanne, informed a publication that she had returned to the city to check whether he was in the medical facility, while his other parent did the equivalent search in the capital, but could not find him.

"It feels like a terrible dream, a nightmare. Either I find my son in the morgue, or I find him in a serious state. It's terrible," she stated.

She added that some of his peers had been discovered with injuries covering nearly half their bodies. "It's indescribable; they experienced a terrifying ordeal."

The Italy's government has confirmed that a number of of its young people have not been located.

Junior golfer Emanuele Galeppini, 16, was last heard from around the turn of the new year on December 31st, his father said.

One of those is Emanuele Galeppini, a 16-year-old promising athlete, who hailed from Genoa but now residing in Dubai.

Other Missing Individuals

Giovanni Tamburi, sixteen, is also unaccounted for. His parent said that he had been on vacation but had ventured out with a group and found himself at the venue.

"A companion said they fled after the fire broke out and that he had his phone with him, but then at a specific moment he lost sight of him," she explained, adding he had been wearing a identifiable gold chain.

One of his educators commented, "I've always been struck by his kindness and smile, alongside great responsibility. He would frequently ask if help out."

Alice Kallergis, who holds dual Swiss and Greek citizenship but lives full-time in the country, was also present on that night, according to reports.

Her brother has published an urgent request on social media, saying the relatives has had "no updates" regarding the teenager or the group she was with, who are also unaccounted for.

Officials from her other nation say they are closely watching the situation.
