A jet carrying Pete Hegseth was compelled to make an unscheduled landing in the Britain on Wednesday due to a fissure was identified in the plane's windshield, per an announcement which stated that all passengers were secure.
"The aircraft landed following established safety measures and all individuals on the flight, among them Secretary Hegseth, is safe," an official representative stated in a public statement.
The secretary was coming back from a short visit to the city of Brussels at the time.
This incident is not the initial instance that a United States armed forces jet ferrying a senior official has experienced mechanical issues.
In a previous incident this year, a US Air Force plane carrying Marco Rubio to the city in Germany was compelled to head back to the US capital after encountering a mechanical fault.
