It has been confirmed that beloved actors Jennifer Lawrence and Josh Hutcherson are set to appear once again in the next chapter of the Hunger Games film series, titled The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping. The project is now in the works.
The actors will once again portray Katniss Everdeen and Peeta Mellark, the characters they made famous. Industry whispers indicate their appearance will probably be featured in a future-set scene, considering the main film series concluded with their characters married and with children.

Sunrise on the Reaping is based upon a 2025 novel by series creator Suzanne Collins. It will be the follow-up prequel after 2023's The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes. Returning to the director's chair is Francis Lawrence, who has helmed the majority of the previous films in the series.
The film's narrative are set 24 years before the first Hunger Games, centering on a young Haymitch Abernathy. Haymitch, later known as Katniss's mentor, is shown as a tribute in the brutal 50th Hunger Games.
