The forty-third yearly Golden Joystick Awards took place recently, and through an impressive performance, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 emerged as the most decorated winner. The breakout role-playing game by Sandfall Interactive won the esteemed Ultimate Game of the Year award, along with accolades for Superb Storytelling and Top Visual Design.
Enhancing the developer's achievements, the gifted cast also received individual awards. Jennifer English was named Best Lead Performer for her role as Maelle, while Ben Starr earned Supporting Performance Award for his work as Verso. Furthermore, Sandfall Interactive the studio received Best Development Team. Overall, Clair Obscur and its creative team achieved seven awards throughout the ceremony.
Additional standout winners included Ghost of Yōtei, which was awarded Best Audio Design and Console Game of the Year, and Hollow Knight: Silksong, receiving Outstanding Independent Game and Premier PC Title. Worth mentioning, the lion's share of Golden Joystick Awards are voted on by the audience, with only 4 categories—Critics Choice, Breakthrough, Lifetime Achievement, and Streamers' Favorite—determined by reviewers.
