Close to 25,000 Experiencing Power in South-East Queensland and Victoria Following Severe Weather Systems
Around twenty-five thousand homes in south-east Queensland found themselves lacking electricity on Monday's dawn after intense storm systems impacted the area, producing powerful gusts reaching 109km/h.
Massive Frozen Precipitation and Widespread Impact
Homeowners witnessed giant hailstones reaching sizes of 7 centimeters in particular locations. Meteorological experts confirmed that various areas across Queensland had been hit with significant hail.

Response teams were working to restore power throughout the affected regions, with approximately seventy teams deployed to address the numerous electricity disruptions.
Southern State's Storm Challenges
Simultaneously, nearly 1,000 energy customers in the southern state also encountered energy failures after the metropolitan area experienced its heaviest rainfall in over 500 days.
State Emergency Services received 598 emergency reports across the state, mainly for property damage but also for downed trees and flooding.

- The Werribee area - saw substantial destruction
- Hoppers Crossing area - various rescue reports
- Wyndham region - nearly 180 help reports
During the peak on the previous day, over 28k power users in Victoria were lacking electricity.
Climate Outlook
Humid circumstances were forecast to persist along large portions of eastern Queensland this next several days as a weather pattern continued to pull in damp air against the shoreline.
The following day was expected to become the wettest day, with persistent storm activity expected across different parts of both states.
Health Warning
Public health experts alerted that there was an greater possibility of weather-related respiratory issues across the state's northern country region, especially given the existing atmospheric conditions.
This warning comes after previous incidents where similar conditions led to substantial respiratory problems in the region.
